AVG Security Toolbar Uninstallation
Recently, there was an AVG program update with the option to install the improved AVG Security Toolbar. If you installed this toolbar and have decided you don’t wish to use it anymore, you can manually disable it in your Internet browser.
Please follow the instructions below to disable the AVG Security Toolbar:
1. Internet Explorer
- Tools menu -> click on "Internet Options"
- Switch to the "Programs" tab
- Click on the "Manage add-ons" button
- Select "AVG Security Toolbar" from the list and then click "Disable"
- Click OK
2. Mozilla Firefox
- Tools menu -> Add-ons, find the AVG Security Toolbar here and click the Disable button.
You should now find that the AVG Security Toolbar has been disabled.

During the toolbar installation process, you will have been given an option to change your default search engine to Yahoo!.
If you did change your default search engine and wish to change it back, you can do so by following the steps below:
- Click on the Start button, then Control Panel
- Double-click on "Internet Options"
- If you can't see Internet Options, click on "Classic View" (Windows XP, Vista) or "View by:" Large icons (Windows 7) on the left. Now double-click on "Internet Options"
Next to "Search", on the General tab, click Settings, and select your preferred search engine. Click OK
