To download the installation file do one of the following:

How can you tell if your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?

To find out if your computer is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, do the following:

  1. Click on the Start menu, and then navigate to: All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information.
  2. Check the entry ""System Type".
    If this entry reads:
  • "X86-based PC" - you are running 32-bit Windows
  • "x64-based PC" - you are running 64-bit Windows

Installation Instructions

  • When you are prompted, click the "Save" button and choose a location where the installation file should be stored. We recommend saving the file to the Desktop or your My Documents folder.
  • Reboot your computer.
  • Locate the downloaded AVG installation file where you saved it to (it has a four colour square icon and its name starts with AVG...) and launch the installation by double-clicking on it.
